Georgia Southern 23 | Eastern Michigan 21
Winner: Tom
In the 2018 Camellia Bowl, Georgia Southern wins the game in dramatic fashion as Tyler Bass kicked a 40 yd FG as time expired to win the game 23 -21 over Eastern Michigan. Eastern Michigan had taken a 21-20 lead with just over 3 minutes left, but Georgia Southern drove down the field to set up the winning FG.
Bass also kicked a 50 yd FG right before half time that easily cleared the goal posts! QB Shai Werts was the Bowl Game MVP with rushing for 2 TD’s himself and leading the drive to set up the game wining FG! Werts continued his school record of not throwing an interception which is currently 118 games and will continue until next season! The Bowl Guys had a fun time at this one and even stopped at Toomers Corner in Auburn on their way to Montgomery. We were interviewed by “The Big Guy” Frank Sulkowski of WJCL 22 but it never made it to their live broadcast.
